About Word Search
Word Search is the classic letter-grid puzzle. A square grid is filled with letters, and a list of target words is hidden inside it, running in straight lines. Your job is to spot each word and mark it before you run out of patience.
The GameHub version has endless levels that start with a small 6 by 6 grid and four words, then grow to 12 by 12 with ten words. Each level uses a themed word group such as food, animals, nature, home, sports or travel, and you earn up to three stars per level. Your progress is saved.
How to play
Open a level and read the word list shown with the grid. The counter shows how many words you have found out of the total.
Press on the first letter of a word and drag in a straight line to its last letter. The selection snaps to the nearest of the straight directions.
Lift your finger. If the line covers a hidden word, it stays highlighted in its own colour and is checked off the list.
Words can run in more directions as you go. Early levels only run across and down, middle levels add diagonals, and later levels use all eight directions, including backwards.
Find every word to clear the level, earn one to three stars, and move on to the next level.
What you get
Levels are generated from their number, so they never run out and each one is the same for everyone.
Grids grow from 6 by 6 up to 12 by 12, with four to ten words per level.
Words come from food, animals, nature, home, sports and travel, cycling level by level.
Finish fast without hints for three stars. Your best time on each level is kept.
The first two levels offer up to two hints that mark the first letter of a word.
Leave a level half done and the app picks it back up with your found words and time.

Pro tips
- Scan for unusual letters such as Z, J, X or Q first. Words that contain them are the easiest to spot.
- Look for the first letter of a word, then check the eight surrounding cells for the second letter.
- Remember that words can run backwards, so read lines from right to left and bottom to top too.
- Cross off short three letter words early, since they are quick to find and shrink the list.
- For three stars, avoid hints and keep moving instead of re-reading the same rows.

Frequently asked questions
Is Word Search free to download on Android?
Yes. Word Search is part of GameHub, which is a free Android download. You can start playing the first level straight away and keep going through as many levels as you like.
How do I select a word in the grid?
Press on the first letter and drag in a straight line to the last letter, then lift your finger. Words can run in a line across, down, diagonally, and in reverse on later levels.
Which directions can words run in?
Levels 1 to 3 use right and down only. Levels 4 to 8 add two downward diagonals. From level 9 words can run in all eight directions, including backwards and upwards.
How many levels are there?
There is no fixed end. Each level is generated from its number, so you can keep playing. Difficulty rises until it reaches a 12 by 12 grid with ten hidden words.
Are hints available?
Hints are offered on the first two levels only, up to two per level. A hint marks the first letter of a word you have not found yet, and using one lowers your chance of three stars.
