How to use PDF Editor
- Open a PDF with “Choose PDF”, or drop it onto the page.

What you can and cannot edit in a PDF
PDF is designed for faithful presentation rather than easy editing. Text is usually stored as positioned glyphs, not as flowing paragraphs, and scanned PDFs are just pictures of pages. That is why true “edit the original sentence” features need heavy software and often get layouts wrong.
This editor takes the practical approach that covers most real needs: it lets you place new content on top of a page and manage the pages themselves. You can add text, drop in an image such as a signature or logo, cover details with a solid white box, and rotate, reorder or delete pages. It does not rewrite the original text of the document.
Common jobs and how to do them
- Fill in a form that is not fillable: add a text box on each blank line, type your answer and drag it into place.
- Sign a document: photograph or scan your signature on white paper, crop it, then use Image to place it on the signature line and drag the corner to resize it.
- Hide sensitive details before sharing: cover them with a white box. For highly sensitive data, remember a box sits on top of the content; the original text may still exist underneath, so for legal redaction use a dedicated redaction tool.
- Fix page order or remove pages: use the arrows beside each thumbnail, and the bin icon to delete a page you do not want.
- Straighten a sideways scan: rotate the page, then download. The rotation is saved in the file.
Keeping your documents private
The PDF is opened with the open-source PDF.js renderer and saved with pdf-lib, both running locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, there is no account, and no watermark is added. Close the tab and the file is gone from memory.
Tips for good results
- Use the Text size and colour controls so added text matches the document.
- Added text uses a standard Helvetica font and supports Latin letters, numbers and common symbols. If you need other scripts, paste them as an image instead.
- Always open the downloaded file and check each page before sending it on.
- Keep your original: the editor creates a new file called yourfile-edited.pdf and never changes the source.
