About 2048
2048 is a sliding-tile puzzle played on a 4×4 board. Every swipe slides all the tiles as far as they can go, and when two tiles with the same number touch they merge into one tile with double the value. Your goal is to build a tile with the number 2048.
The 2048 game in the GameHub app keeps the classic rules and adds a few comforts: three undos in every game, a saved best score, a game that resumes where you left off, and a global leaderboard so you can compare scores with other players.
The 2 and 2 in the top row merge into a 4. A new tile also appears after every swipe (not shown here).
How to play
Swipe up, down, left or right. Every tile on the board slides in that direction until it hits the edge or another tile.
When two tiles with the same number collide, they merge into one tile with their sum, for example 2 and 2 become 4. The merged value is added to your score.
After every move a new tile appears in an empty square: usually a 2, and sometimes a 4.
Keep merging to build bigger numbers. Reach the 2048 tile to win, then choose to keep going for a higher score.
The game ends when the board is full and no two neighbouring tiles match. Start a new game any time.
What you get
The original rules: new tiles are a 2 (90% of the time) or a 4 (10%), and you win at 2048.
Slide the whole board with a swipe in any direction, easy with one hand.
Take back a bad move. Every game comes with three undos.
Your best score is saved and you can see how it ranks against other players.
Leave in the middle of a game and pick it up again where you stopped.
The game itself runs on your phone. No account or sign-up is needed.

Pro tips
- Pick one corner for your biggest tile and never move it out. Mostly swipe towards that corner and its neighbouring side.
- Build a chain of descending numbers along one edge, such as 512, 256, 128, 64, so each merge feeds the next one.
- Avoid the swipe that moves your corner tile away. If you must use it, do it only when no other move is possible.
- Merge small tiles early. A board full of unmatched 2s and 4s runs out of space quickly.
- Use an undo when one swipe breaks your chain, not for every small mistake. You only get three per game.
