Online Screen Recorder
Record your screen, a window or a browser tab straight from this page. Choose what to share in your browser, add computer sound and your microphone if you like, pause and resume, then download the video. It all happens in your browser, so nothing is uploaded and there is no watermark.
Runs in your browser. Your files are never uploaded.

How to use Online Screen Recorder
- Choose whether to include computer or tab sound and your microphone.
- Press Start recording and pick a screen, window or tab in your browser's picker.
- Use Pause and Resume as needed, and press Stop when you are done.
- Watch the preview, then press Download, or Record again to start over.
How the recording works
When you press Start, the page asks your browser for screen capture. The browser shows its own picker and decides what is shared, so this page never sees anything you did not choose. The video is then encoded in small pieces as it is recorded and kept in memory.
If you add your microphone, its sound is mixed with the computer sound into a single track so the file plays normally everywhere.
Tips for a good recording
- Close notifications and private windows before you share the whole screen.
- Share a single tab if you want tab sound, since it is the most reliable way to capture it.
- Use headphones with the microphone option to avoid echo.
- Stop sharing from the browser bar and the recording is saved as well.
- Download straight after stopping. The recording is lost if the tab is closed.
Formats and size
Recordings are saved as WebM using VP9 or VP8 video and Opus sound when available. If your browser can record MP4, you can choose it instead. Video is recorded at about 5 megabits per second, so a minute is roughly 40 megabytes or less. WebM files from browsers may not allow seeking in some players, and MP4 plays in more of them.
Limits
This tool needs a desktop browser that supports screen capture and recording. Phones and tablets usually cannot do it. Sound from the computer depends on your browser and operating system and is not always available. Recordings live in memory and are not saved if the tab closes, and very long recordings may fail. There is no editing or trimming. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
Why use this online screen recorder tool
- Screen, window or tab. Your browser's own picker lets you share the whole screen, a single window or one browser tab.
- Sound and microphone. Add computer or tab sound when your browser provides it, and mix in your microphone so both end up in one track.
- Pause, resume and preview. A live preview, a large REC indicator and a running timer show what is being recorded. Pause and resume at any time.
- Private and no watermark. The video is recorded and saved on your device, never uploaded, and has no watermark or time limit set by this page.
Frequently asked questions
How do I record my screen online for free?
Press Start recording, choose a screen, window or tab in your browser's picker, and record. When you press Stop you can preview the video and download it. It is free, needs no account or install, and adds no watermark.
Can I record my screen with audio?
Yes, in many browsers. Tick the sound option and, in the picker, tick the box to share system or tab audio if it appears. Whether it is offered depends on your browser and operating system. You can also add your microphone.
Is my recording uploaded to a server?
No. The video is captured and stored in your browser memory on your device. Nothing is sent to a server. It is only kept until you close the tab, so download it before you leave.
Why can I not record my screen on my phone?
Most phone and tablet browsers do not allow web pages to capture the screen. This tool works best in a desktop version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. On a phone, use the screen recorder built into the system.
Why is there no sound from my computer?
Browsers decide this. Tab audio is usually available when you share a tab and tick the share audio box. Sharing the whole screen or a window may give no sound, especially on macOS. The microphone option works separately.
How long can I record?
The recording is held in your browser memory until you stop, so very long recordings can run out of memory. This page warns you after 30 minutes. For long sessions, record in several parts and download each one.
