How to use Certificate Maker

  1. Choose a certificate type, such as achievement or completion.
  2. Type the recipient’s name and, if you like, your own message.
  3. Add the date, who signed it and their title.
  4. Pick a border, font and colour, then print, save as PDF or download a PNG.

Writing a good certificate

Keep it short: who it is for, what they did and who is awarding it. Use the full name exactly as the recipient writes it, and add the date so the certificate can be referenced later.

Printing tips

  • Choose landscape orientation and A4 or Letter paper.
  • Turn off “headers and footers” in the print window.
  • Use heavier paper for a more formal finish.

Limits

Long messages are cut after four lines. Fonts are the standard serif and sans-serif fonts on your device, so the look can differ slightly between computers.

Why use this certificate maker tool

  • Four ready types. Achievement, completion, appreciation and participation, each with sensible default wording you can replace.
  • Landscape A4/Letter. Designed on a landscape page so it prints cleanly on A4 or Letter paper.
  • Three borders, six colours. Classic, double or corner borders in gold, navy, green, maroon, purple or black.
  • Private. The certificate is drawn in your browser; names and text are never uploaded.
