How to use Case Converter

  1. Paste or type your text.
  2. Click the case style you want, such as Title Case or camelCase.
  3. Press Copy to use the converted text.

Choosing the right case

Different contexts expect different capitalisation. Headlines in English usually use Title Case, while body text and most UI labels use Sentence case. Code has its own conventions, and mixing them makes projects harder to read.

Programming case styles at a glance

  • camelCase: JavaScript variables and functions (userName).
  • PascalCase: classes and React components (UserProfile).
  • snake_case: Python variables, database columns (user_name).
  • kebab-case: CSS classes, URLs and file names (user-name).
  • CONSTANT_CASE: constants and environment variables (MAX_RETRIES).

Tips

Title Case here capitalises every word, including small words like “of” or “and”; style guides such as AP and Chicago lowercase those, so tweak by hand if you need strict editorial style. For identifiers, the converter splits on spaces, punctuation and existing capital letters, so “userID value” becomes user_id_value in snake_case.

Accessibility and readability

Long passages in all capitals are harder to read because every word has the same outline, and screen readers may spell out capitalised words letter by letter. Prefer sentence case for body text and reserve capitals for short labels. If you need capitals for visual style, apply them with CSS text-transform so the underlying text stays in normal case.

In code, follow your language’s convention consistently. Mixed styles in one project, such as userName next to user_name, are a common source of bugs when data crosses between systems.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Title Case and Sentence case?

Title Case capitalises the first letter of every word (“The Quick Brown Fox”). Sentence case capitalises only the first word of each sentence (“The quick brown fox.”).

What is camelCase used for?

camelCase joins words without spaces and capitalises each word after the first (myVariableName). It is the standard for variable names in JavaScript, Java and many other languages.

Does it fix text typed in all caps?

Yes. Choose Sentence case or lower case to repair text accidentally typed with Caps Lock on.
