Online Whiteboard
Sketch ideas, explain a problem or plan on an endless digital whiteboard. Draw with a pen or highlighter, add shapes, arrows, text and sticky notes, move things around, zoom and pan, then export a PNG or SVG. It works with mouse, touch and stylus, needs no account, and runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

How to use Online Whiteboard
- Pick a tool from the rail, such as Pen, Highlighter, a shape, Text or Sticky note, then choose a colour and size.
- Draw on the board. Use the mouse wheel or the plus and minus buttons to zoom, and hold Space or use two fingers to pan.
- Use Select to move or delete objects, the Eraser tools to remove marks, and Undo or Redo to step back and forward.
- Open Export and files to download a PNG or SVG, or save the board as a JSON file to open later.
How the whiteboard works
Each stroke, shape, text and sticky note is kept as a separate vector object rather than as pixels. That is why undo and redo are instant, why you can zoom in without blur, and why the SVG export contains real lines and text instead of a picture.
The pixel eraser paints over what is already there, while the object eraser removes whole objects that you touch.
Getting the most from it
- Hold Shift while dragging a shape to make a perfect square or circle, or while dragging a line to snap it to 45 degree steps.
- Use the highlighter for emphasis. Overlapping passes within one stroke do not get darker.
- Switch to the dark background for presentations in low light. The default ink flips between black and white to stay visible.
- Press the zoom percentage to fit all your content on screen.
- Save JSON now and then if the board is important, because browser storage can be cleared.
Export formats
PNG is a normal image and can have a transparent background. SVG is vector and scales without loss. JSON is the editable board file that you can open again in this tool on any device.
Limits
This is a single-user whiteboard: there is no sharing link and no real-time collaboration. Everything happens in your browser and nothing is uploaded. Autosave uses browser storage, which has a size limit, so very large boards may stop autosaving and you will see a warning. Pressure-sensitive strokes export to SVG as many small segments. There is no image import, and very large PNG exports are scaled down to stay within browser limits.
Why use this online whiteboard tool
- Pen, highlighter and shapes. Freehand pen with pressure support on stylus devices, a see-through highlighter, lines, arrows, rectangles and ellipses.
- Text and sticky notes. Click to place text or a sticky note, type directly on the board, and double-click later to edit it.
- Infinite, zoomable board. Everything is stored as vector objects, so you can pan and zoom freely and the lines stay sharp. Choose white, grid, dotted, lined or dark backgrounds.
- Private, with autosave. Your board autosaves in your own browser and is never uploaded. Export PNG, SVG or a JSON file whenever you want a copy.
Frequently asked questions
Is this online whiteboard free and does it need a login?
Yes, it is free and needs no account, no sign-up and no email. Open the page and start drawing. There are no watermarks on exported images, no time limits on a board, and no paid tier to unlock the tools.
Is my drawing uploaded or shared with anyone?
No. The board is drawn and stored entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, and nobody else can see it unless you send them an exported file yourself. That also means there is no live collaboration: it is a single-user whiteboard.
Will I lose my board if I close the tab?
The board autosaves in your browser storage and reopens when you come back on the same browser and device. Clearing site data removes it, so use Save JSON in Export and files if the board matters to you and you want a safe copy on disk.
How do I export a whiteboard as an image?
Open Export and files, choose the whole board or just the visible area, optionally tick Transparent background, and press PNG or SVG. PNG is best for sharing quickly, and SVG stays sharp at any size and can be edited in vector apps.
Can I use it with a touchscreen or a stylus?
Yes. It uses pointer events, so mouse, finger and pen all work. Stylus pressure changes the pen width where the device reports it. Once a pen is detected, finger touches pan the board instead of drawing, which helps keep your palm from leaving marks.
How do I move or delete something I drew?
Choose the Select tool and click an object to select it, then drag to move it or press Delete to remove it. Changing the colour or size while an object is selected updates that object. Undo brings back anything removed by mistake.
