How to use Delete PDF Pages
- Choose a PDF file and wait for the page thumbnails to appear.
- Choose Delete selected or Keep only selected.
- Click the pages to select them. Use Select all, Select none or Invert to speed up.
- Press the save button to download the new PDF. The original file is not changed.
Common reasons to remove pages
Documents often arrive with pages you do not want to share or keep: a blank page at the end of a scan, a fax cover sheet, an advertisement in a downloaded statement, or an appendix that is irrelevant to the recipient. Removing them makes the file shorter, easier to read and safer to forward.
Extracting is the mirror image. If you only need chapter three of a long manual, or the signature page of a contract, keeping just those pages is faster than deleting the other hundred.
Working with the thumbnail grid
Each thumbnail is a small preview, so you can spot blank or unwanted pages at a glance. Selected pages are highlighted and labelled with the action that will be applied. The counter beside the save button tells you how many pages the new PDF will contain, which is a quick sanity check before downloading.
- Use Invert after selecting a few pages to flip the selection.
- Use Select all, then click pages to unselect the ones you want to treat differently.
- Hold on to the original until you have opened the new file.
- For splitting into several files, use a split tool instead.
Limits and privacy
Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened by this tool, so remove the protection first. Very long documents render thumbnails progressively, so the grid may fill in over a few seconds. If sensitive information must be permanently removed, remember that deleting whole pages is safe, but hiding content on a page is not.
The whole operation runs in your browser using pdf.js for previews and pdf-lib for building the new file. Your document is never uploaded or stored.
Why use this delete pdf pages tool
- Visual page selection. Recognise pages by their thumbnail instead of guessing page numbers.
- Delete or extract. The same screen removes unwanted pages or pulls out just the ones you need.
- Safe by default. It refuses to produce an empty PDF and always saves a new file.
- Local processing. Pages are copied with pdf-lib in your browser; no upload takes place.
Frequently asked questions
Does this change my original file?
No. The tool reads your file, builds a new PDF containing the pages you keep, and downloads it as a separate file. Your original stays exactly as it was.
What is the difference between the two modes?
Delete selected removes the highlighted pages and keeps everything else. Keep only selected does the opposite: it keeps only the highlighted pages and drops the rest. Both give the same kind of output, so choose whichever needs fewer clicks.
Will bookmarks and links survive?
Page content, text and images are copied intact. Document-level extras such as the outline or bookmarks, and links pointing to pages that were removed, may not be carried over, because the pages are copied into a fresh document.
