How to use Image Converter (PNG, JPG, WebP)

  1. Add one or more images (JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF or BMP).
  2. Choose the format to convert to and the quality.
  3. Press Convert. Multiple files download as a ZIP.

Choosing the right format

Different formats suit different content. Photographs compress best as JPG or WebP. Logos, icons and screenshots with sharp edges and flat colour look best as PNG or lossless WebP. Animated pictures use GIF or animated WebP. Picking the right one can cut file size by half with no visible change.

When to convert

  • PNG to JPG: shrink a large photo saved as PNG.
  • JPG to PNG: you need a lossless working copy, or must upload where PNG is required.
  • Anything to WebP: speed up a website.
  • WebP to JPG or PNG: open a downloaded image in an older app that does not support WebP.

Quality settings

For JPG and WebP, 85–90% is visually near-lossless; 70–80% gives much smaller files with mild softening. PNG ignores the quality slider because it is lossless. Remember that each lossy re-save discards a little more detail, so keep your original and convert from it.

Why use this image converter (png, jpg, webp) tool

  • Batch conversion. Convert many images at once.
  • WebP support. Create modern, smaller files for websites.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between PNG, JPG and WebP?

JPG is small and ideal for photos but has no transparency. PNG is lossless and supports transparency, but files are larger. WebP does both, usually at smaller sizes, and is supported by all modern browsers.

Will converting PNG to JPG lose transparency?

Yes. JPG cannot be transparent, so transparent areas are filled with white.

Does converting improve quality?

No. Converting cannot restore detail already lost; it only changes the container and compression.
