HEIC to JPG Converter
iPhones save photos as HEIC, which many Windows apps, websites and printers cannot open. Convert one or many HEIC files to widely supported JPG or PNG right in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

How to use HEIC to JPG Converter
- Choose or drop one or more HEIC or HEIF files.
- Pick JPG or PNG and set the quality for JPG.
- Press Convert and wait while each file is processed.
- Download files one by one, or as a single ZIP when you converted several.
What HEIC is and why it causes trouble
HEIC (also called HEIF) is the image format Apple devices have used by default since iOS 11. It stores photos at roughly half the file size of an equivalent JPG, which saves storage. The downside is compatibility: many websites refuse HEIC uploads, older Windows and Android software cannot open it, and some print shops reject it.
Converting to JPG gives you a file that practically every device, website and application accepts.
Choosing JPG or PNG and a quality setting
JPG is the sensible default for photos. A quality of 85 to 92 percent is visually very close to the original while keeping files small. Lower values give smaller files with visible softening. PNG is lossless from the decoded image, so it avoids adding a second round of compression, but PNG photos are often several times larger than JPG.
Remember that HEIC itself is already compressed, so converting to any format cannot add detail. It only makes the existing picture readable elsewhere.
- Sharing online or by email: JPG at 85 to 90.
- Editing or archiving: PNG, or JPG at 95 or more.
- Large batches: convert in groups if your device is low on memory.
Limits and tips
Decoding HEIC in the browser is demanding, so large photos or long batches can take a while, especially on phones. Live Photos and burst files may convert as a single still frame. Depth maps, HDR gain maps and similar extras are not preserved, so colours of some HDR photos may look slightly different. If a file fails, it may be damaged or may not be genuine HEIC. On an iPhone you can also change Settings, Camera, Formats to Most Compatible so future photos are saved as JPG.
Why use this heic to jpg converter tool
- Batch conversion. Add many photos at once and see progress and status for each file.
- JPG or PNG output. JPG is small and universal; PNG avoids further compression loss but makes larger files.
- Per-file error handling. If one file is damaged, the rest still convert and the problem file is clearly marked.
- ZIP download. Get every converted photo in a single archive.
Frequently asked questions
Why can’t I see a preview of my HEIC files?
Apart from Safari on Apple devices, browsers cannot display HEIC natively. Instead of previewing the original, the tool converts it and lets you download the result, which you can then open anywhere.
Is the location data kept?
The conversion re-encodes the picture pixels, and in our experience the output files generally do not carry the original EXIF block such as GPS coordinates. We cannot promise this for every file or browser, so if privacy matters, check the result with a metadata viewer before sharing.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Conversion runs in your browser using a JavaScript library that loads only when you press Convert. Your photos are not sent to a server.
