Margins and Padding

Spacing in CSS comes from two properties. Margin adds space outside an element, pushing other elements away. Padding adds space inside an element, between the content and the border.

• margin: space OUTSIDE the box
• padding: space INSIDE the box
• Both accept px, em, rem, or percent

.box {
  margin: 20px;
  padding: 16px;
}
