HTML Headings and Paragraphs

Headings label sections of a page. There are six levels, from
(most important) down to
. Use one
for the page title, then
for sections, and so on — in order, not skipping levels, because search engines and screen readers rely on it.

Paragraphs of text go in
elements. The browser adds space between them automatically.

Main title

A section

Some text in a paragraph.

Headings are for structure, not size. To make text bigger, use CSS — never pick a heading level just because it looks large.
