Common mistakes
- Saying "We are planning marriage" instead of "We are planning the wedding" ("marriage" refers to the lifelong union, "wedding" is the event).
- Saying "Book the hall" instead of "Book the venue" (venue is the more natural, general term).
- Saying "Guests list" instead of "Guest list" (use the singular form "guest" before "list").
- Saying "Marriage garden" instead of "Wedding venue" or "Garden venue" ("marriage garden" is not standard English).
- Saying "Give RSVP" instead of "RSVP" (RSVP is already a request to reply, it is used as a verb on its own).
- Saying "Honeymoon trip" instead of "Honeymoon" ("honeymoon" already means the post-wedding trip, adding "trip" is redundant).
