Common mistakes
- Saying "I want open account" instead of "I want to open an account" (don't drop "to" and the article "an").
- Saying "I put money in bank" instead of "I deposited money in the bank" (use "deposit," the standard banking term).
- Saying "Take out money" casually instead of "Withdraw money" in a banking context (use the formal term).
- Saying "Give me signature" instead of "Please sign here" (native speakers ask for a signature with "sign," not "give signature").
- Saying "My account number is there" instead of "Here is my account number" (avoid the literal Hindi-influenced word order).
