Common mistakes
- Saying "swipe money" instead of "swipe the card" or "pay by card."
- Saying "pay the minimum" without understanding it still adds interest — say "pay the minimum due, but interest will still apply."
- Saying "my credit limit is more" instead of "my credit limit is high" — high/low is more natural for limits.
- Saying "tell me your PIN" as an acceptable request — the correct etiquette is to never ask for or share a PIN.
- Saying "balance is outstanding" instead of "there is an outstanding balance" or "you have an outstanding balance."
- Saying "cashback money" instead of just "cashback" — the word already means money returned.
