Dialogue
ImranYou've been quiet all evening. Is something weighing on you?
RahulYeah... honestly, I've been stressed out for weeks and just bottling it up.
ImranWhy didn't you say anything sooner? You know you can talk it out with me.
RahulI guess I didn't want to seem like I couldn't keep it together.
ImranYou don't have to keep it together all the time, you know.
RahulI've had these racing thoughts at night, and I just feel drained all day.
ImranSounds like you're close to your breaking point. Do you want to vent, or just talk it out?
RahulMaybe both. I just need to get this off my chest.
ImranI'm here — you've always been able to confide in me.
RahulThanks. Honestly, just letting it all out already lightens the load.
Common mistakes
- Saying "I am taking too much tension" instead of "I've been really stressed" or "I'm under a lot of stress" — "taking tension" is a direct Hindi translation not used in natural English.
- Saying "My mind is very disturbed" instead of "I'm feeling anxious" or "My mind won't settle down."
- Saying "I want to vent out my feelings" instead of just "I want to vent" — "vent" already means to release feelings, so "out" is unnecessary.
- Saying "Don't take stress" instead of "Don't stress" or "Try not to worry so much."
- Saying "I am feeling very heavy" to mean emotionally burdened, instead of the natural phrase "I have a heavy heart" or "This is weighing on me."
- Saying "Share your heart" instead of the natural phrases "get something off your chest" or "confide in someone."
